Some of the programs Mid-Missouri Motors, Inc., has been involved in would be: the Soldier of the Month Program and the Wounded Warrior Program. Lloyd, Julian and Clay Howlett (founder of radio station KJPW), started the Soldier of the Month program. Today, the Soldier of the Month Award is more commonly known as the Committee of Fifty Award. Ft. Leonard Wood officials choose a Non- Commissioned Officer on a monthly basis and present them with a plaque and ceremony; in addition, local businesses honor that soldier with discounts and gift certificates. In the beginning Mid-Missouri Motors would allow that soldier to drive a new vehicle free of charge for thirty days. We still participate in the Committee of Fifty program every month with an award of either a designated done free of charge or a gift certificate which can be used for anything in the dealership.
